How to Itemize Amazon Receipts for QuickBooks Online
Every bookkeeper who manages clients with high-volume Amazon purchases faces the same recurring nightmare: a single Amazon order containing five different items with different taxability rules, bundled discounts, and a lump-sum sales tax figure at the bottom.
When you attempt to split the transaction manually across different expense accounts in QuickBooks Online, basic rounding formulas frequently leave you off by $0.01 or $0.02 compared to the bank feed charge. That 1-cent discrepancy prevents QuickBooks from auto-matching the transaction, causing hours of unnecessary manual ledger reconciliation.
Step 1: Open the Amazon Invoice in Google Chrome
1 Navigate to Amazon.com > Your Account > Your Orders. Select the relevant order and click View Invoice or Printable Order Summary.
Step 2: Auto-Itemize with CartItemizer

- Expense batch CSV: Prepares reviewed split rows for supported QuickBooks batch workflows. Confirm that your edition and region accept the file columns, and check the mapped fields and total before saving.
- Copy TSV Grid: Copies split columns for a matching expense detail screen where pasting is supported. Review each mapped line and the transaction total before saving.
- Bank-feed CSV: Imports bank transaction rows; it does not create one split expense from multiple item rows. Use the statement transaction and review its category or split in QuickBooks.
